To ace this round, the candidates must first be really confident and well-read. It is always beneficial to be a leader in group discussions. To display the leadership skills, the candidates can break the ice and initiate the discussion; they can introduce the topic and set the background for the discussion; they can also set the order for other members to speak; further, if they see that a member is unable to put his or her point forth, they can politely take space and turn the attention of the group to that person for him or her to speak, etc. Moreover, candidates are also marked well if they summarise or conclude the discussion and are able to bring the parties to a consensus.

The top law firms may also have different written tests to examine the knowledge of the candidates and their ability to articulate it. The candidates must write neatly and in a properly structured manner. They must engage with the questions and should not answer evasively.
